Susuchon Wayuú bag Miichi (Home)
Susuchon Wayuú bag Miichi (Home)
This Wayúu bag belongs to the "susuchón" type, a term used to describe smaller bags compared to the traditional ones. Perfect for carrying small items, it serves multiple purposes—it can be styled as an accessory to complement your outfit or used as a decorative element to enhance a space.
This particular design is ideal for pairing with any outfit, thanks to its neutral tones and subtle colorful accents.
The artisan who created this piece aimed to represent, through the kanaá (geometric composition), the rancherías (indigenous settlements consisting of separate homes organized around open spaces used for social and ceremonial activities). The colorful triangles symbolize families who, despite their differences, share and live together in community. Lastly, the colorful lines represent the snake, an animal regarded in Wayúu beliefs as a symbol of transformation, change, and growth.
